We’re thankful for what this month has in store for our students! If you want to download our one-page newsletter and calendar, it’s here: November 2016 newsletter & calendar (PDF).
Nut-free & latex-free school
Please remember we are a NUT-FREE and LATEX-FREE school. This includes peanuts, tree nuts & balloons. This information is in our parent handbook.
We ask that ALL items placed in your child’s lunch be labeled with their name. This includes all wrapped foods and plastic containers.
Monthly theme: Thanksgiving and traditions
This month we will be learning how to write and recognize:
- Letters: R, O, G
- Numbers: 3, 13
- Shapes: Square and rectangle
- Colors: Brown and orange
Topics covered: the first Thanksgiving, Pilgrims, Indians, the Mayflower, what it means to harvest, how fruits and vegetables were harvested during the 17th century, homes and clothing.
Activities include: Discussing family traditions and why we are thankful for family and friends, learning how to make homemade butter.
In November, we will give thanks for all the blessings in our lives. It is a great opportunity to talk about simple, everyday blessings with your child at home. We will continue exploring the Bible and meet Sarah, Abraham and Isaac. Students will also meet a special guest in Chapel, St. Martin. St. Martin teaches us that sharing and caring for others is important to God.
Thanksgiving Feast on November 17
Our Thanksgiving Feast will be Thursday, November 17 at 11:30. There will be a sign up sheet posted outside of your child’s classroom of feast items you can donate. If you would like to join your child for the feast, please let the office know in advance.
